Museum exhibits put arts in travel

The Courier-Journal | Larry Muhammad June 22, 2008

Frida Kahlo's photographs at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Paul Klee paintings at The Albertina in Vienna and conceptual art objects from the 1960s at Moderna Museet in Stockholm are all exhibits highlighted on MutualArt.com, an online clearinghouse that helps traveling art enthusiasts plan their cultural excursions.

This subscription-based site, partnered with 1,500 museums around the world, has compiled a list of the top 20 summer art shows in the United States and overseas.

Included are the Dallas Museum of Art, Milwaukee Art Museum, New Orleans Museum of Art, the Whitney and Guggenheim in New York; and internationally, the Barbican Centre in London, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and other institutions.
